Lombok's New International Airport

A new airport is being developed in Central Lombok to give
more access and opportunities in promoting
Eastern part of Indonesia.
The project is going ahead
& work on the basic infrastructure, started with new roads being
built, old roads being widened, oneway systems & roundabouts being
implemented, street lighting going up, water mains being extended.
Lombok is looking forward to increase the tourism industry to hope
improving the living standards of many of the people not only in the
area but on the whole island. With this new airport, it hopes that
the bigger size aircrafts can landed directly from Europe, Australia
or other Asian Countries without having to transit in Denpasar or
Jakarta.
On November 11th
2005, Indonesian Minister of Transportation Mr. Hatta Radjasa
accompanied by Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Mr. H.L Srinata
has officially open a ceremony of the first step of the New Lombok
International Airport development.
Lombok's new International
Airport planned to have a runway of 2,750M long, and 45M width to
enable the Boeing 747 or Airbus 310 can safely landed. Lombok and
Sumbawa has become very potential place for the Tourist Destination.
